RANCHO TIERRA BONITA CLASSIC MEXICAN FOLKLORE

Rancho Tierra Bonita has been operating tours in Progreso for the last 5 years for cruise lines such as Carnival, Costa, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Regal and Festival.

Rancho Tierra Bonita is located 15 minutes away from the city of Mérida on the Merida-Progreso highway (25 minutes away from Progreso). It is an elegantly-decorated typical mexican ranch with beautiful gardens, excellent restroom facilities, air conditioned restaurant and horse ring. 

It features folkloric dances and an amazing musical horse show with 8 professional mexican “charros” presenting the art of the “charreria”, so much a part of the mexican culture through the first half of the 20th century. A live mariachi band and a beautiful female singer will also be part of the show. The house show performers are all professional mexican charros.

Tour duration: 5 ½ hrs.

This tour will first take you to the heart of Mérida for a bus city tour, visiting the most important landmarks, with some free shopping time in downtown Mérida. Afterwards, you will arrive to Rancho Tierra Bonita where you will be entertained by a colorful folkloric ballet while enjoying a delicious mexican buffet and then you will witness an incredible musical horse show in which famous mexican charros show off their skills with their lassoes and fine horses while accompanied by the music of the mariachis. 

Another version of this tour allows you to enjoy a combination of two “must see” attractions for any visitor to Progreso. Your excursion will first take you to Dzibilchaltun, one of the most important ceremonial centers of the mayan world. You will visit the new mayan world museum and this impressive mayan site and then you arrive to rancho tierra bonita for lunch and musical shows.

Depending on the length of the vessels’ stay in the port, these tours can be modified for shorter programs and although we highly recommend that lunch be included, snacks and other options are available.
